In Tuesday nights budget, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg announced that the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme will be extended. The scheme allows first home buyers to get into the property market with a deposit as low as 5% while not having to pay lender’s mortgage insurance, as the federal government acts a guarantor for the remainder of the deposit.
An additional 10,000 places are available specifically for first home buyers purchasing new homes. For more information take a look at the government’s website:
